Chinese manjha dealer held
New Delhi: A 34-year-old dealer of Chinese manjha has been arrested allegedly with 50 rolls of the banned manjha from North East Delhi, officials on Monday said. The police said the accused was discreetly selling Chinese manjha to his known customers in the Kabir Nagar area of North East Delhi. He had allegedly been selling manjha at a high margin to make quick money witnessing a high demand on Independence Day, they said. PTI
6 hurt in fire at restaurant
New Delhi: Six persons were injured in a fire at a restaurant in the INA market in south Delhi on Monday morning. Fire department officials said they received a call at 3.18 am about the blaze at Kerala Restaurant, housed in shop number 211 near the INA Metro Station’s gate number 2. Seven fire tenders were pressed into service. They took about two hours to douse the flames. Some restaurant workers sleeping inside got injured in the fire that also gutted two adjacent Chinese fast food joints, he said. PTI
Assault over not sharing hookah
Gurugram: A 29-year-old man was reportedly thrashed by a group of men when he refused to share a hookah in a club in Sector 109. The man was seriously injured and is receiving treatment at a hospital. According to the complainant, Pankaj Sharma, while he was smoking a hookah around 3.30 pm, Sonu Saini, alias Cheeku, asked if they could smoke together. After Pankaj refused, Saini went away. “At 5.15 am, when I was heading home, Saini followed me to the elevator. When I walked towards my scooter parked outside, he pushed me off the scooter, causing me to fall. He then called six men, and they thrashed me with sticks, threatening to kill me,” Pankaj said. The police reported that five persons were arrested in the case.
