The Chheharta police on Thursday claimed to have cracked the snatching case in which two unknown looters had decamped with ~4,000 from a dairy three days ago.

The perpetrators were identified as Gurdev Singh of Anand Avenue and Shahnazbir Singh, alias Shubh, of Guru Ki Wadali here. The police have confiscated the bike used in the crime.

Deepak Devgan of Vikas Nagar area told the police that on September 29 evening, he along with his son was sitting in the dairy when two bike-borne persons came to the shop and asked for milk worth ~100. He handed over ~500 and asked to return the balance amount.

He said as he opened the cash box, the accused looted ~4,000 and fled the scene.

Assistant Commissioner of Police Shivdarshan Singh said during investigation, the police scanned the CCTV cameras and with the help of technical input, identified the suspects. They were arrested on Wednesday. They were produced in a court and brought on police remand for further probe.
