A 24-year-old man was arrested by the police today after they seized 31.44 gm of heroin from him. The arrest was made under the leadership of Sub-Inspector Bhim Singh, in charge of the Anti-Narcotics Cell.

The arrested individual has been identified as Rahul, son of Suresh Kumar, a resident of Beed Ghaggar village in the Chandimandir area of the district. A police spokesperson said the authorities had received a tip on Saturday about Rahul’s involvement in drug trafficking in the areas of Chandimandir and Surajpur. The information indicated he was scheduled to supply heroin to one of his customers near the railway gate on the road leading to Chandi Mata Mandir today.

Acting on the intelligence, Sub-Inspector Bhim Singh and his team set up a surveillance operation at the specified location. They apprehended Rahul and seized 31.44 gm of heroin from him.

The police said a case has been registered against the accused under Section 21 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act at the Chandimandir police station. Rahul was produced in court and remanded to police custody for three days for further questioning.
