Workshop held for schools ahead of Parakh Rashtriya Sarvekshan
District Education Officer (Secondary) Ginni Duggal today held a workshop of principals, heads, in-charge, management and directors from nearly 600 private and government schools at Shivalik Public School, Phase 6, here to gear up for the upcoming Parakh Rashtriya Sarvekshan 2024, scheduled for December 4.
Addressing the attendees, Duggal emphasised that through random selection any school could become a part of the survey that will be conducted for Classes III, VI and IX on the learning outcomes of their previous classes. She elaborated on the role and responsibilities of school heads and teachers for the survey.
The DEO explained how the field investigators will do the section sampling and student sampling. She also briefed all formats to be filled by sample school i.e. achievement test for sampled student followed by pupil questionnaire, teacher questionnaire and school questionnaire.
She emphasised on how the Punjab School Education Department under the leadership of Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains is working diligently in framing worksheet and assessment tools and analysing the data culled from these practice sheets in form of Competency Enhancement Programme (CEP).
She explained about the class-wise competencies with appropriate examples. The DEO motivated all stakeholders to join hands and work hard to retain the first position, which Punjab had achieved in NAS 2021.
Duggal shared the worksheets, assignments and assessment tools with all private schools. She thanked the Director Principal of host school, Anoopkiran, for her hospitality and venue.
Inderjeet Sandhu, principal of Sant Isher Public School, Phase 7, who has been district coordinator for Parakh by CBSE, elaborated on the conduction of the survey.
