What are your plans for the Panchkula Assembly segment?

I have issued a vision document comprising over 100 projects for the segment. That is my roadmap for Panchkula and I will work in order to deliver on all matters at the earliest. For me, all projects of this Assembly segment are equally important. I have also been to all villages of Panchkula multiple times. I am fully aware of the people’s issues there.

Stilt-plus-four constructions should be allowed only in those sectors which are still under development. Such construction causes lot of infrastructural problems in the old sectors of the city.

What is your assessment of the election results?

We made efforts to win the election here and the others also put in a lot of hard work in their respective constituencies. It is the people’s verdict. No one can get 100 per cent positive results in elections.

What is your take on the stilt-plus-four constructions?

The stilt-plus-four constructions should be allowed only in sectors which are still under development. Such constructions cause a lot of problems in the old sectors. Walls of adjoining houses get damaged. We have seen people suffer due to stilt-plus-four structures in the past.

What is your take on the matter of Jhuriwala dumping ground?

The dumping ground is an important issue for the residents. We will prepare a proper plan and try to resolve the matter on priority. In fact, there still are small dumping spots across the city. We need to clear these as well.

Congress is in Opposition in the state. How will you manage works?

I am not new to politics. I have worked in the government. Hame sarkar se kaam nikalwana aata hai (I know how to get work done by the state government). Things would have been easy if we had a Congress government in the state. But, I will work hard to get people’s works done.
