Welcome session for students
To mark a systematic beginning of the new academic session 2021-22, an introductory and welcome session was organised at Solitaire International School, Sector 20, Panchkula.
The virtual programme was organised class wise wherein the teachers introduced themselves to the students and ice-breaking sessions were conducted to make students comfortable and friendly with each other.
Due to limitations imposed by pandemic, when the students miss getting together at school and this programme proved to be quite fruitful in making them bond with each other. Different areas of schools were shown to them through a well drafted presentation. The programme also consisted of craft activities for senior Solitairians and puppetry demonstration for young students.
40th anniversary celebration at Spring Dale school
It was a time to rejoice for everyone at Spring Dale Senior School as the school celebrated its 40th anniversary on April 1, 2021. Representatives of the school team and management met in the school on Thursday observing the social distancing protocol to cheer up each other.
Rajiv Kumar Sharma, the School Principal and a team of senior teachers shared that this celebration is going to be in form of a series of events stretching over the entire year. The ceremonial beginning was marked by a walk through a ‘Visual Wall Gallery’ depicting the pictures covering the important landmarks of the voyage.
Sahiljit Singh Sandhu, Chairman, Spring Dale Educational Society and Dr Kirat Sandhu Cheema, Director Spring Dale Educational society, who are also alumni of the institute shared their emotional bond and an ideological connect with the institution whose foundation was laid by their grandparents and then was nurtured by their parents Late Dr Shavinder Singh Sandhu and Late Mrs Manveen Sandhu.
They shared that on this occasion, they had been approached by a number of Spring Dale alumni who are holding important positions in the administration, police, medical services, business and commerce and are planning to start a digital platform for reunion of the school alumni.
Counselling session to deal with exam stress
A series of psychological counselling sessions were provided as an outreach programme to help the students at the St. Joseph’s Sr. Sec. School, Chandigarh to overcome exam related stress and anxiety. The students of all the secondary classes participated in these online sessions.
The school counsellor Manpreet Chanana counselled the students in a series of class-wise sessions discussing and solving their problems. She provided suggestive measures such as coping strategies and changes that can be easily incorporated in daily lifestyle.
Manpreet also gave students some interesting ways to deal with their issues like anxiety grounding techniques and organising life before, on the day and during the examination season.
Students and parents appreciated the efforts made by the school.
