The Chandigarh Health Department will organise ‘Tika Utsav’ by setting up vaccination centres at Health and Wellness Centre (HWC), Sector 20, and HWC, Daura.

Mobile vaccination teams have been formed and will be functional tomorrow at the Bar room of the Punjab and Haryana High Court and Satsang Hall, Sector 27-D.

Panchkula aims to vaccinate 24K

  • Amid a rapid increase in Covid cases, the Panchkula Health Department has fixed a target to vaccinate 24,000 eligible people during four-day ‘Tika Utsav’ from Sunday.
  • As many as 15 vaccination sites, including at primary health centres, community health centres and urban dispensaries, have been set up under the special vaccination campaign.
  • Civil Surgeon Dr Jasjeet Kaur urged the eligible citizens or those above 45 years of age to realise the gravity of the situation and come forward for vaccinatation.
  • “I would like to shun all misconceptions about the Covid vaccine,” she said, adding that both Covishield and Covaxin were safe and effective. She stressed on the mantra of test, track and treat to bring down the number of cases.

Further, vaccination sessions may now be organised at workplaces (both public and private) that have 100 or more eligible and willing beneficiaries. Relevant employers can write to the office of the DC/MC/DHS, Chandigarh, for workplace vaccination of all employees aged 45 years or more.

“Organising vaccination camps at work places will not only be convenient to the staff but will also help them avoid travel, reducing the risk of Covid. Nodal officers and the Health Department will ensure adherence to protocol/ guidelines of the MoHFW,” said Dr Amandeep Kaur Kang, Director, Health Services, UT.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has appealed to all states and UTs to organise ‘Tika Utsav’ or ‘vaccine festival’ from April 11 to April 14 to vaccinate more persons.
