UT eves, Delhi in Atray Memorial meet final
Chandigarh Cricket Association defeated Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association by a huge margin of 176 runs to enter the final of the 5th Rama Atray Memorial Women Cricket Tournament being organised by JP Atray Memorial Cricket Society.
Batting first, the local eves posted 254/7 in the allotted 50 overs. Nikita Nain and Deepti Walia raised a 97-run partnership for the opening wicket. Nain scored 56, while Deepti added 41 to the score. Suman Rajput (54) and Monika Pandey (51) were the other notable scorers for the side. Vanshika Thakur claimed two wickets, while Anahita Singh and Dhanya Laxmi Sharma picked one each.
In reply, the Himachal team were bundled out at 78. Anahita Singh (21) was the highest scorer for the side. Kumari Sibbi and Monika Bishnoi claimed three wickets each, while Priyanka took two and Arshbanni Kaur bagged one.
In the second match, Delhi District Cricket Association defeated J&K Cricket Association by 74 runs. Batting first, the Delhi team posted 179/8 in 50 overs with the help of Sonakshi D (47), Purva Siwach (29), Saachi Grover (28) and Kashish (17). Sandhya and Jameela Shubham picked two wickets each for the bowling side, while Chitra Singh Jamwal picked one.
In reply, the J&K team posted 105 before getting all out in 33.5 overs. Sanjna (29), Bisma (23) and Bhawan Deep Kaur (18) were main scorers. Suniti Soni was the pick of the bowlers, as she claimed three wickets, followed by Medhvi Bidhuri, who took two, and Ragani with one.
