Chandigarh: Two persons, including a juvenile, have been arrested for a theft. Sandeep Kumar had reported that he was employed as driver by a Sector 21 resident, who had been in Australia for the past two months. Tenants informed him a windowpane of the washroom was broken. He visited the house and found the rooms rasnsacked. Several valuables, including laptops and a mobile phone, were stolen. A team of the District Crime Cell nabbed Prem Sagar of (UP) and a juvenile for the theft. Three laptops, an I-Pad, a mobile phone and other valuables had been recovered from the accused. TNS

Murder: Fourth accused convicted

Chandigarh: Dr Yashika, Special Judge, Fast Track Court, has convicted a person in a murder and rape case of an 11-year-old Palsora girl, whose body was found in a gunny bag dumped in a forest area in 2013. The court will pronounce the quantum of sentence on October 8. Earlier the court had sentenced three persons, including a woman, to life imprisonment in the case in 2015. The fourth accused had been declared proclaimed offender and arrested early this year. TNS
