Work on a new tubewell began in Ward No 27, Badali, on Friday. Twelve tubewells were proposed by Mohali Municipal Corporation to the Punjab Water Supply and Sewerage Board for various localities. The estimated costs of these projects was Rs 4.28 crore. Out of these, four tubewells at a cost of Rs 147.22 lakh have already been commissioned (pump chamber under construction) at wards 13, 6, 8 and 3. The rest, having an estimated cost Rs 281.28 lakh, are coming up at wards 14, 26, 12/15, 25, 12, 27, 9 and 6 one by one, as one drilling part takes 25 days before the starting of the chamber construction.
