Theft at Mansa Devi Complex residence of ex-cricketer Yuvraj Singh’s mother

Gold ornaments, cash and other valuables have been stolen from the residence of Shabnam Singh, mother of former Indian cricketer Yuvraj Singh, at Mansa Devi Complex, Sector 4, here.
Owner’s claim
Shabnam Singh, mother of former Indian cricketer Yuvraj Singh, expressed apprehension that her servants were responsible for the theft as they both left the job at the time of Diwali apparently for the fear of getting caught.
Shabnam has accused her cleaner Lalita Devi and cook Salinder Dass of the theft. Though the incident happened in October 2023, she has reported the matter to the police now.
Shabnam said she owned a home in Gurugram as well and keeps visiting both houses from time to time. She had gone to Gurugram in September 2023 and returned home in Panchkula on October 5. “On returning home, I found that some gold ornaments and cash lying in the house were missing. I tried to check about the missing items on my own with the servants, but to no avail. In the meantime, both my servants left job around Diwali,” she said.
She expressed apprehension that her servants were responsible for the theft as they both left the job at the time of Diwali apparently for the fear of getting caught.
Shabnam has stated that jewellery worth Rs 1 lakh and Rs 75,000 in cash have been stolen.
Mansa Devi Complex SHO Dharampal said the police had registered the case and started investigation. However, no arrest has been made in the case yet.
The district police have registered a case against Lalita Devi and Salinder Dass under Section 381 (theft by clerk or servant) of the IPC at the Mansa Devi Complex police station.
