The Tribune School logs win in U-18 football tournament

The Tribune School, Sector 29, recorded a 3-2 win over St Joseph’s School, Sector 44, during a boys’ U-18 match on the opening day of the St Xavier’s VV De Rozario Six-a-Side Football Tournament.

Mohammed Mahbubul (19th), Aryan (33rd) and Tejasbeer (37th) netted a goal each for the winning side, while Yuvraj (14th) and Manishrat (39th) reduced the margin for the Sector 44 team. St Soldier’s School, Sector 28, defeated Chitkara International School, Sector 25, as Raghav (5th) and Abhimanyu (31st) scored a goal each. Moti Ram Arya School, Sector 27, logged a 3-1 win over Kids-R-Kids School, Sector 42. Shivank netted two goals, while Rajyavarhan netted one for the winners.

Aditya scored one for the losing side in the 18th minute. St John’s School, Sector 26, defeated Shemrock Mohali 4-0. Karan (5th, 30th) and Rishit (12th, 42nd) scored goals. Gopal netted two goals as Shishu Niketan School, Sector 22, defeated St Xavier’s Panchkula 2-0.

In the boys’ U-14 category, hosts St Xavier’s logged a 3-0 win over MDAV School, Sector 22. Tanush Awasthi (1st, 32nd) scored a brace, while Naman Gulati added one in the 31st minute. St Joseph’s lads defeated St Xavier’s Mohali 8-0. Ishaan Preet (2nd, 23rd, 29th), Akash Singh Sohi (7th, 12th, 17th), Dakshveer Singh (3rd) and Arav Sharma (13th) scored goals for the winning side.

Saupin’s School, 32, defeated Kids-R-Kids 5-1 with the help of Ranveer (8th, 12th, 22nd), Uday (6th) and Vrishank (20th). Sahijveer Singh pulled off one for the losing side. Chitkara International School played a goalless draw against Shemrock, Mohali, while St Joseph’s defeated The Tribune School by a solitary goal scored by Tapasnoor. Arush netted two goals as Doon International New Chandigarh defeated MDAV and Bhavan Vidyalaya, Sector 33, defeated Kids-R-Kids (B) 3-2.

Samaksh (2nd, 22nd) scored twice and Parakram added one. Yuvraj and Aarav scored for the losing side. AKSIPS-45 defeated Chitkara School by a solitary goal scored by Shorya.
