Taxi driver attacked in Kalka village, dies
Unidentified youths attacked a 24-year-old taxi driver on the Kalka-Pinjore road here last night. He succumbed to injuries at the hospital.
The incident took place near a gaushala of Seudi village in Kalka while the taxi driver was dropping off passengers. The deceased has been identified as Sukhwinder Sukhi (24), a resident of Nanakpur village, Pinjore.
The youths first smashed his a window of his car and then dragged him outside. They attacked him with sharp weapons and fled the spot.
Bystanders said people took the injured youth to the Civil Hospital, Kalka, where he died during treatment.
Police officials said the assailants had come on a motorcycle.
The police said they were investigating the matter. Sub-Inspector Surjeet from the Kalka police station said the police had registered a murder case against Ravinder, Laddi and Poda. He said the post-mortem of the body was conducted and it was handed over to the family of the deceased.
“We are conducting raids to nab the accused,” he said.
