An inter-house debate competition for the students of Class X brought the auditorium to life as students fiercely debated about ‘Is Gandhian philosophy relevant in today’s world?’ From discussing non-violence and truth, to simplicity in the modern age, the students engaged in thought-provoking exchanges that left the audience in awe of their eloquence and depth of understanding.

The school organised an exhilarating one-day trip for the students of classes IX and X to Rocksport in Rajpura, offering them a perfect blend of education and entertainment. The students had an amazing time and indulged in various fun filled games and adventure sports such as rock climbing and zip-lining. The students also enjoyed a scavenger hunt, along with some music and dancing.

The school hosted a Science, Maths and Social Science exhibition that transformed the school into a buzzing hub of creativity and learning. In the Maths section, the students engaged their parents through interactive models and mental ability questions. Science experiments were brought to life as the students confidently demonstrated real-time experiments, captivating their audience. The Social Science section displayed impressive models that brought history and geography to life. An added attraction was the ‘Art Hub’, displaying beautiful artwork for sale, making the event both educational and memorable.
DAV Sr Sec School, Chandigarh
The school organised the ‘CBSE Regional Science Exhibition 2024–25’. The exhibition was a two-day event held by the CBSE in which a number of schools of the northern region exhibited various models in two categories. The first category comprised students of classes VI to VIII, while the students of classes IX to XII competed in the second category. The theme of the exhibition was ‘Science and Technology for Sustainable Future’ under which sub-themes, including, food, health and hygiene, transport and communication, natural farming, disaster management, mathematical modeling and computational thinking etc were inculcated.

The students of the school won medals at the inter-school rangoli-making competition. Namrata Singh and Sneha Maurya bagged the first position at the event held at Government Model Senior Secondary School, Sector 46. Principal Monica Sharma applauded the students.

Plaksha University, Mohali
The university organised a teacher training programme on Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) for senior secondary school lecturers from 108 Schools of Eminence and 10 meritorious schools. This workshop was held at the university’s Mohali campus and was attended by 118 educators. The workshop focused on equipping teachers with modern educational tools. The sessions offered practical applications, real-world examples and experimental tools, to enable teachers to bring subjects to life in their classrooms. The training introduced methods for active learning, project-based instruction and effective interdisciplinary techniques.
Aryans Institute of Nursing, Mohali
To create awareness about cancer among students, the institute celebrated National Cancer Awareness Day. Students of BSc Nursing, General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) and Auxiliary Nurse and Midwife (ANM) courses and other departments participated in the event. This year’s theme was ‘Hope, love, and strength: our weapons against cancer’. A speech competition was also organised wherein students participated in numbers. They spoke on various issues on various aspects of health and hygiene. They stressed that early detection helped in treatment and increased the chances of recovery and survival.
SGGS, Chandigarh
The college organised an expert lecture on the ‘Economic Environment of Business in India’ with an aim to provide valuable perspectives on the economic forces shaping India’s business environment today. Principal Kulbir Singh welcomed resource person Dr Upinder Sawhney, Professor of Economics (retd), Panjab University. Sawhney outlined key trends in India’s economy, including recent policy reforms, economic dynamics and the impact of geopolitical changes on business environments.

The group organised an international conference on ‘Cyber Threats: Navigating Legal Challenges in the Digital Age’. Justice Rakesh Kumar Garg, a former Judge of the Punjab and Haryana High Court and Chairman of the NRI Commission of Punjab, interacted with the participants. A panel discussion was attended by Justice Talwant Singh, a former judge at Delhi High Court, Neeraja Vorovurru, Additional Director General of Police, Cyber Branch, Punjab, and advocate Prianshu Kamra.
