School notes: Dasehra celebrated
Bhavan Vidyalaya, Mohali
The school celebrated Dasehra with an array of vibrant performances and creative activities. Students of Class III brought the stage to life with a presentation of Ramleela.
Shishu Niketan School, Mohali
Keeping the festive spirit alive, Dasehra was celebrated at the school by the students of Kindergarten. A special assembly was organised where the students were shown a PowerPoint presentation on the importance of celebrating the festival. The students came dressed as Lord Ram, Lakshman, Sita, Hanuman and Ravan. Music, dance and hymns in the praise of Lord Ram echoed. Students enjoyed colouring activities. The day we celebrated with enthusiasm and gaiety.
St Joseph’s Sr Sec School, CHD
The school hosted an inter-school competition ‘Talent Trove 2024’ as a part of its 44th founder’s day celebrations. A fancy dress competition, ‘The Disguise Delight’, showcased the creativity and imagination of the children. Amaira from PML SD Public School secured the first prize, followed by Adhiraj Rai from AKSIPS 41 Smart School in the second place and Chris from St Xavier’s Senior Secondary School, Sector 44, bagging the third place. In the ‘Narrator’s Nest’, a storytelling competition, the audience was captivated by the skills of the contestants. Anaya Saini from KB DAV Senior Secondary Public School, Sector 7, won the first place, while Adhitri Banerjee from Kids R Kids School claimed the second place and Nirvair Singh Grewal from The New Public School earned the third spot.
Yadavindra Public School, Mohali
The preparatory wing of the school conducted a special assembly to celebrate Dasehra. The assembly began with a heartfelt prayer, followed by an inspiring thought and speech about the significance of the festival. The highlight of the event was the mesmerising choir performance of ‘Tu hi Ram’, which left a mark on everyone’s hearts. The showstopper was a dance performance by the girls of classes IV and V, on the theme of ‘Guru-Shishya Parampara’. A captivating rendition of the bhajan ‘Sri Ram Chandra Krupalu’ enchanted the audience. The assembly concluded with the director, Maj Gen TPS Waraich, VSM (retd), congratulating all the participants on their impressive performances.
Shemrock School, Mohali
The school celebrated Grandparents Day. The highlight of the event was a cultural programme dedicated to grandparents, with a beautiful welcome song and a variety of entertaining songs and dances. Fun-filled activities like musical chairs, balloon balancing and passing the parcel were organised, keeping the children and their grandparents entertained through the day.
Ashiana Public School, Chandigarh
Dasehra was celebrated at the school. The celebrations began with the recitation of the ‘Gayatri Mantra’ and ‘Mool Mantra’. Thereafter, the students were told about the significance of the festival. Students of the senior wing presented a skit, depicting the significance of the festival. The students of UKG also presented a group song. Interesting activities based on the themes of the festival were organised for the students of all classes.
