Zirakpur, December 3

Roads and public places remained littered with garbage in most parts of Zirakpur even as the sanitation workers called off their strike on the fifth day of their agitation.

Vinod Chugh and Pradip Sood, leaders of the sanitation workers’ union, said the strike had been called off and services of all eligible workers in Zirakpur, Dera Bassi and Lalru would be regularised in the next one week.
