Sacred Heart School, Sector 26, overpowered Yadavindra Public School (YPS), Mohali, to advance into the girls’ U-14 final during the ongoing 10th Sardar Bhagwant Singh Memorial Basketball Trophy at the Sector 78 sports complex. The Sector 26 team recorded a 41-29 win as Smaya contributed 18 points for the side. Avantika gathered 20 points for the Mohali outfit.

Earlier in a quarterfinal tie, Shemrock School, Mohali, defeated Delhi Public School, Sector 40, with a 31-24 verdict. Anshika scored 23 points for the winning side, while Vanshika contributed eight for the Sector 40 team.

In the girls’ U-17 semifinals, hosts Vivek High School, Sector 38, posted a 31-12 win over Learning Paths School (LPS), Mohali. Kashvi scored maximum 11 points for the host team and Harneet scored six points for the losing side. In the boys’ U-12 semis, Police Public School, Mohali, showed their strength with a 25-10 win over YPS. Gurjot was the top scorer with 13 points, while Digvijay added six for the YPS. In the second semi, Vivek School, Mohali, outclassed Shemrock School 19-10, with Ajitesh contributing eight points.

St Anne’s School, Sector 32, registered a 10-4 win over YPS to reach the girls’ U-12 final. Ryka and Rehmat contributed six points each for the Sector 32 team and YPS, respectively. The side will be facing LPS, which defeated Manav Mangal Smart School, Mohali, 19-6 as Nikunj added 11 points and Mehroop added four for Manav Mangal in the final clash.

In the boys’ U-14 quarterfinals, YPS edged out Shemrock School 29-27 with Atharva contributing 14 points to his team’s victory. Gurman scored 14 for Shemrock lads. KV High Ground School triumphed over LPS 44-42 as Ankush contributed 17 points and Prajwal added 20 points for LPS. In the girls’ U-14 quarterfinals, Shemrock School defeated Delhi Public School 31-24 as Anshika scored 23 points. Vanshika contributed eight points for DPS.

In the boys’ U-17 quarterfinals, Navneet scored 25 points as St Joseph’s School, Sector 44, defeated YPS 50-47. Keeratvir’s effort of gathering 16 points for the losing side went in vain. LPS lads defeated Shemrock School 32-10. Gurparteek scored 14 points for the winning side, while Jayant added five for Shemrock.
