Despite enjoying home conditions, the Chandigarh lads managed to take a minimal lead of 16 runs against Delhi during the second day of the Ranji Trophy match at Government Model Senior Secondary School, Sector 26.

Resuming from their overnight total of 63/1, the city lads were bundled out for 324 to claim a 48-run lead. In their second innings, Delhi lads were playing at 32 without any loss at the draw of the stumps today.

Overnight unbeaten, Shivam Bhambhri and skipper Manan Vohra started off well by pushing the total to 100-mark. Vohra was the first to go after getting caught by Yash Dhull off Sumit Mathur at 44 off 79 balls, with seven boundaries. Mathur struck again as he took Ankit Kaushik (2) to reduce the hosts at 104/3.

Thereafter, Raj Angad Bawa helped Bhambri to raise a 54-run partnership for the fourth wicket. The duo was looking good to achieve a good total before Hrithik Shokeen removed set batsman Bhambri (80) to reduce the Chandigarh side at 160/4. Ayush Badoni came into the attack and claimed Bawa (33). Badoni followed Bawa’s wicket by trapping Aayush Sikka (24) in front of the wickets. Badoni continue his excellence as he claimed Mayank Sidhu (44) and Gurinder Singh (32) to shook the Chandigarh innings. Mathur claimed Vishu (9) and Siddhant took Jagjit Singh Sandhu (18) to end Chandigarh innings. Nishunk Birla remained unbeaten on 19.

Badoni returned with 4/57 and Mathur picked 3/72 to help the visitors make a comeback in the match. Siddhant claimed two wickets, while Shokeen picked one.
