PU swimmers bag 26 medals

Panjab University swimmers bagged a rich haul of 26 medals in the All-India Inter-University Swimming Championship, which concluded at the Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT), Bhubaneswar.
Swimmer Anurag Dagar won a gold medal in the 200m freestyle and 4x100m medley relay, silver medal in 4x200m freestyle medley relay and bronze medals in 4x100m freestyle medley relay and 50m freestyle events. Siddhant Sejwal bagged gold medal in 4x100m medley relay; silver medals in 400m individual medley relay, 100m backstroke, 200m backstroke and 4x100m medley relay; and bronze medals in 50m backstroke and 4x100m medley relay.
Ansh Arora won gold medal in the 4x100m medley relay and silver medals in 100m and 200m breaststroke events. Sameer Sejwal bagged gold medal in 4x100m medley relay; silver medal in 4x200m freestyle medley relay; and bronze medals in 4x100m medley relay, 50m and 100m butterfly events. Anmol Jindal won silver medal in 4x200m medley relay, while Param Raj Singh claimed bronze medal in the 4x100m medley relay event.
In the women’s category, Leeza Phogat, Riya Verma, Jasmeet Kaur and Bhavjot Kaur won bronze medal in the 4x100m medley relay event. — TNS
