In views of the increasing numbers of paying guests, especially in Sectors like 15, 35 etc, UT Adviser Dharam Pal directed the police to inspect these premises and take a serious view of any violations.

Three girl students had lost their lives after a fire broke out in a PG accommodation in Sector 32 on February 22, 2020. Following the tragic incident, the UT Administration revised the policy for registration of PG accommodations keeping in view the need for accommodation of students in private houses as also their safety and security.
