Philanthropist donates Rs 1.92L among 192 families
Chandigarh: Harbhajan Kaur, a philanthropist, handed over Rs 1.92 lakh to 192 destitute families of Makhan Majra village. She along with her husband Iqbal Singh donated Rs 1,000 each to 192 families, who lost their livelihood due to the lockdown. Earlier, as the lockdown started, Harbhajan had donated medicines worth Rs 90,000 for the emergency and women patients and other medical equipment to Civil Hospital, Sector 45, Chandigarh. “Gurbani teaches us, kirat karo, naam japo and wand ke chhako. I am of the conviction that Almighty has assigned us some duty to make our lives worthwhile,” said Harbhajan. TNS
SSP inspects community kitchen
Chandigarh: The SSP, Chandigarh, Nilambari Jagdale, visited the community (langar) kitchen of an NGO – Umang Ek Nai Soch and Sidh Baba Beriwale Darbar, Sector 35-A, Chandigarh. The SSP was satisfied with distribution of food and arrangements at the kitchen. She also commended work of the NGO and other social organisations along with the police force for feeding poor, needy and hungry people of the tricity through their ‘langar sewa’. Sanitisers, masks distributed at Kishangarh
Chandigarh: The Chandigarh Territorial Youth Congress distributed masks, sanitisers and juice at Kishangarh village today. Around 1,500 masks, 1,500 bottles of sanitisers and 1,000 juice bottles for children were distributed by SSP Nilambri Jagdale, Congress leaders HS Lucky, Gurpreet Gabi and Luv at Kishangarh. TNS
RSETI donates 15K masks
Fatehgarh Sahib: Members of the Rural Self Employment Training Institute (RSETI) funded by the SBI and Punjab and Sindh Bank handed over 15,000 masks to Deputy Commissioner Amrit Kaur Gill at her office today.
