Paras scores ton in Chandigarh’s win in Nayudu trophy
Paras came up with a quickfire ton to help Chandigarh log an eight-wicket win over Tripura during the ongoing Col CK Nayudu Trophy at the MCA Grounds, IT Park. Paras came up with an unbeaten 124 off 97 balls, studded with 18 boundaries and four sixes, while Nikhli contributed an unbeaten 72 off 68 balls, studded with six boundaries and three sixes, to ensure the win.
In reply to Tripura’s 216, hosts scored 223 runs. After initial setbacks, visitors amassed 221 runs in its second innings and set a target of 216. Earlier, Tripura resumed from its overnight score of 169/5 and added another 52 to their total. Sentu Sarkar (71) was the top scorer while Durlab Roy added 45 runs. Harshit and Neel took three wickets each for the bowling side.
In reply, Chandigarh batters had a dismal start as Devang Kaushik (7) lost his wicket, followed by Dushyant (4) as the hosts were reduced to 44/2. Thereafter, an unbeaten 175-run partnership between Nikhil and Paras rescued the team.
