Panjab University centre holds ‘Tarang’ exhibition
The Centre for Social Work, Panjab University, organised ‘Tarang’, an exhibition of the products made by the local artisans from various voluntary organisations, student startups and self-help groups, under the initiative ‘vocal for local’.
Prof Monica Munjial Singh, chairperson of the centre, hosted the event. Prof Simrit Kahlon, Dean of Student Welfare (woman), Panjab University, was the chief guest of this event. The exhibition augments the work being done by non-governmental organisations that work towards the upliftment of marginalised populations.
The event featured NGOs, self-help groups from the tricity and different states. Also, students from different departments of PU showcased their talent. A total of 47 stalls were set up at the event venue, from which the organisers managed to raise Rs 1.45 lakh.
The alumni of the centre also visited and recalled their old days. Exhibitions like this has provided various NGOs with valuable exposure to a broader audience, facilitating networking and collaboration opportunities.
