Around 105 spectators at the recent Diljit Dosanjh concert held at the Exhibition Ground in Sector 34 lost their mobile phones to pickpockets.

The concert drew massive crowd and had substantial police deployment and private security arrangements to ensure safety. However, miscreants exploited the packed venue and managed to steal phones.

Complaints started pouring in during the concert when many people realised that their phones were missing after the event ended. The victims reported the thefts at the local police station, leading to the registration of multiple complaints at the Sector 34 police station. Police has already initiated an investigation.

Similar incidents were also reported during Punjabi singer Karan Aujla’s concert at the same venue earlier this month. More than 24 complaints of mobile thefts were reported to the police at that time.

The incident has raised concerns over the effectiveness of security measures at large public events. People expressed frustration, questioning how such a significant number of thefts could occur despite heavy security presence.
