Officers directed to identify most-polluted places

Panchkula Deputy Commissioner Dr Yash Garg has directed the officers concerned to identify the most polluted places in the district and prepare an action plan within the stipulated time frame.

He issued the directive during a meeting held in this regard at the auditorium of the Mini-Secretariat.

Garg directed Sudhir Mohan, Regional Officer of the Haryana State Pollution Control Board, to visit the most polluted places, especially hotels in Morni, and monitor them continuously so that these hotels do not pollute the environment by spreading dirt in the hilly area and dispose of their garbage properly and at the right place.

The Deputy Commissioner directed the Haryana Urban Development Authority, Municipal Corporation Panchkula, Municipal Council Pinjore Kalka, Public Health Department, District Development and Panchayat Officer to focus on Madawala, Khokhara, Kami and Jhuriwala villages, and collect garbage in order to stop pollution caused by burning of garbage by villagers.

Garg also stressed on the departments concerned to eliminate secondary points in sectors. He said that an action plan for all these points should be prepared and submitted soon so that the action plan can be sent to the headquarters for initiating action.

The Deputy Commissioner directed the officer concerned to visit Sector 32 and dispose of the garbage being burnt or collected there so that pollution can be stopped from spreading in the district.

The Deputy Commissioner appealed to the residents of the district to dump the garbage of their industries and villages at the right place and not to burn it.

Executive Engineer of Haryana Urban Development Authority. NK Payal, SDO Praveen Sethi, SDO of Irrigation Department, Sukhwinder Singh, and officers concerned of the Panchkula and Kalka Municipal Corporations were also present on this occasion.
