No smooth ride in Industrial Area of Panchkula
Panchkula, October 17
With heavy vehicles plying on the roads in the Industrial Area here, a permanent solution to broken stretches in the area has remained elusive for a very long time.
Vishnu Goel, president, Haryana Chamber of Commerce and Industries (HCCI), said, “Even as nearly 2,000 industrial units are operating in the Industrial Area, it is deprived of even basic facilities like proper sanitation, smooth roads and street lights.”
“We had convened a special meeting with the MLA. He (Gupta) and the Director of the Industries Department had assured to change the overall scenario of the Industrial Area. However, the first step towards fulfilling the assurance is yet to be taken,” said Goel, who is also on the 32-member advisory committee for development works in Panchkula.
Goel said they had sent a proposal to build cemented roads as heavy vehicles, including fuel tankers, ply there and such roads lasted long. —TNS
