Newly elected PU student council members sworn in
The newly elected members of the Panjab University Campus Student Council (PUCSC) took oath in the Zoology Department Auditorium of the university today.
Along with the four office-bearers of the council, five executive members and the department representatives were part of the event. The polling for the posts of president, vice-president, secretary and joint secretary of the council took place on September 5 and the results were declared the same day. The elections for department representatives were also held then.
The executive members elected from the department representatives were Gurpal Singh (Biochemistry Department), Komal Preet Kaur (PU-Institute of Social Sciences Education and Research), Sarthak Thukral (University Institute of Legal Studies), Davinder Pal Singh (University Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences) and Udit (Zoology Department).
PU Vice-Chancellor Prof Renu Vig, Dean of Student Welfare Prof Amit Chauhan and families of the elected office-bearers were present on the occasion.
“Despite coming from different organisations and groups, all four office-bearers of the student council will make sure that we work collectively for students’ welfare,” said Anurag Dalal, the newly elected president of the PUCSC.
