Caretaker CM Nayab Singh Saini today visited Shalimar Ground and took stock of the oath-taking ceremony preparations. He was accompanied by MLA Krishna Bedi, Chief Secretary TVSN Prasad, former MP Sanjay Bhatia on the occasion.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, 10 Union Ministers, Chief Ministers of various states, Deputy Chief Ministers, Governors of different states along with senior party leaders will participate in the swearing-in ceremony.

Apart from making proper seating arrangements for the people who will attend the ceremony, the administration is making parking arrangements for 2,000 buses and 5,000 small vehicles.

Government officials said the city is being beautified for the program, entry gates are being made at different locations. The administration has also made proper water and other arrangements for the public. 14 LEDs are being installed at the pandal to ensure proper visibility of the stage.

The police have issued traffic advisory for October 17.

Apart from making separate parking spaces for vehicles of VIPs, government officials and the police has decided to suspend traffic movement on certain roads adjoining the Sector-5 area.

From Wednesday 9 am, the traffic movement on roads connecting Shaheed Major Sandeep Shankhla Chowk, Hafed Chowk, Sector 4 and 5 traffic light, Shaheed Udham Singh Chowk, sector 9 and 10 traffic light, sector 8-9 traffic lights, upto the Shakti Bhawan Chowk will remain suspended till the end of event.

The senior IAS and IPS officers will park their vehicles near the Tahiti Hotel. Similarly, the vehicles of MLAs and MPs will be parked at the parking area of Punjab National Bank near Sector 6 traffic light crossing.

A separate parking spot has been designated for industrialists in the parking area outside ‘The Cove’ hotel and government employees who are on duty on the day will park their vehicles at the Indradhanush Auditorium of Sector-5.
