Mohit and Yashika won the best athlete title in men’s and women’s category, respectively, during the concluding day of the 76th Punjab Engineering College (PEC) Annual Sports Meet.

Anand claimed second position in the men’s group, while Sathvika bagged the second spot in the women’s category. Abhishek (1st year), Rahul (2nd year), Navneet (3rd year) and Mohit (4th year) were also adjudged best athletes. Akshat Sindhu won the best cyclist award.

Meanwhile, in the 1500m event, Rahul clocked 5 minutes and 23:05 seconds (5:23.05) to claim the top position, followed by Shikhar Saxena (5:23.24s) and Prasham (5:24.65s). In the 4x100m event (inter department relay), Mohit, Aditya, Yashika and Sanchi claimed first position, while the team of Ekroor, Angad, Ujjwaldeep and Senona claimed second position. Naman, Rehan, Sathvika and Arpita finished third. In the women’s 200m event, Yashika (31.06s), Sanchi (33.86s) and Ujjwaldeep (35.40s) bagged medals, while in the men’s category, Mohit (24.78s), Pawan (25.03s) and Aditya (26.49s) excelled.

In the women’s 4x100m relay, the team of Nanki, Yashika, Ujjwaldeep and Yagya bagged first position, followed by Jaspreet, Neha, Khushi and Inayat at second; and Smriti, Anvesha, Sathvika and Arpita at third. In the men’s 4x400m relay, Mohit, Udit, Abishek and Shikhar won gold, followed by Ritvik, Prashant, Aditya and Pawan at second. The team of Navneet, Anand, Aalekh and Vishwan finished third. Yashika (14.74s) won the women’s 100m dash, followed by Sanchi (15.80s) and Sathvika (16.40s).

In the men’s 100m race, Mohit (11.90s), Ritish (12.17s) and Pawan (12.43s) bagged medals, and in the obstacle race, Anand, Sanjeet, Arsh Kait and Sakshya won laurels. Dr Rajesh Bhatia, Director, PEC, awarded the winners.
