Mohali MC launches beautification drive
The Mohali Municipal Corporation has initiated a special campaign to beautify the city. The work of clearing debris from the city’s roads and repairing these is being undertaken. Municipal Corporation Commissioner T Benith, along with other officials, visited various roads of the city, RMC points, and the sites of ongoing development works in the city today to take stock of the progress.
Various roads like Phase 3A lights to Lakhnaur entry, Gurdwara Singh Shaheedan to YPS Chowk, YPS School Road, Jail Road, Phase 9/10 dividing road, Phase 10/11 dividing road, and Sector 66/67 dividing road were inspected for the removal of debris, repair of centre verge and grills, painting on streetlight poles, and lifting ‘horticultural waste’.
The MC Commissioner directed officials to complete these works on a priority basis and also directed the sanitation branch to ensure cleanliness on these roads. Instructions were also given to the officials regarding proper garbage management at RMC points. After visiting the C&D waste plant of the MC, Commissioner Benith also inspected various public toilets in the city and Rose Garden Park in Phase 3B1.
