Mohali, July 8
Concerned over three-day power restrictions imposed by PSPCL on large-scale (LS) industrial consumers for the second time, members of the Mohali Industries Association (MIA) today urged the state government to resolve the issue.
A delegation of the association, led by its president Yogesh Sagar, met Minister for Labour, Health and Family Welfare Balbir Singh Sidhu and submitted a memorandum to him to be forwarded to Punjab Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh and Chief Secretary Vini Mahajan to resolve the power crisis.
Anurag Aggarwal, former president of the association, said eight to 10 days of continuous power regulatory measures on large-scale consumer industries were not sustainable. Due to these regulatory measures, medium and small-category consumer industries were also on the verge of closure as they were facing the shortage of raw material.
Yogesh Sagar urged the government to take immediate measures to mitigate the power crisis of large-scale consumers. Otherwise, they would be left with no option but to protest on streets.
