Mohali district witnessed two fatalities, highest ever in a day, taking the toll to 17. The district also witnessed highest 45 fresh cases on Sunday taking the total count to 939.
Civil Surgeon Dr Manjit Singh said two persons who died during the past 24 hours include 62-year-old male, a resident of Kurali city, and 63-year-old male of Singhpura, near Kurali. He said both the patients had co-morbidities like blood pressure and diabetes.
Dr Manjit Singh said 45 fresh cases of coronavirus cases also surfaced on Sunday while five positive patients have been cured and discharged from hospital.
The persons infected with the virus include 45-year-old male of Sector 69, 19-year-old female of Balongi, two females aged 60, 28 and 39-year-old male of new Chandigarh, two males aged 50, 26 and 47-year-old female of Sector 115, two males aged 64, 45 and two females aged 74, 65 of Kharar, 73-year-old male of Badhmajra, 30-year-old male of Sector 69, 33-year-old male of Zirakpur, three males aged 22, 49 and 36 of Phase 1, 27-year-old female of Sohana, 57-year-old male of Jhangeri, 58-year-old female of Sector 74, 60-year-old female and 62-year-old female of 3B2, 56-year-old female of Banur, 43-year-old male of Sector 70, 35-year-old female of Sunny Enclave, Kharar, 45-year-old male of New Sunny Enclave, Kharar, 2-year-old female and 67-year-old male of Sunny Enclave, Zirakpur , three females aged 36, 28 and 50 of Nayagaon, Two males aged 21, 18 and 45-year-old female of Kurali, 42-year-old female of Baltana, 52-year-old female of Zirakpur, 25-year-old female and 24-year-old male of Dera Bassi, two males aged 52, 22 of Tira, 24-year-old male of Jujhar Nagar, 24-year-old female of Phase 9, 24-year-old male of Phase 11, and 29-year-old male of Teur.
The five persons who were discharged from hospital include 56-year-old female of Sector 78, 62-year-old female and two males aged 15 and 32 of Mohali, 30-year-old female of Dappar.
As of now there are 939 positive coronavirus cases and out of these 533 positive patients have been discharged while there were 389 active cases with 17 deaths in the district.
