In a display of “extreme negligence” and “gross irresponsibility”, a Panchkula-based pathology lab today shared week-old cumulative details of 663 Covid-19 positive cases from Mohali with the district administration.

Expressing concern over the negligence on part of the laboratory, Mohali Deputy Commissioner Girish Dayalan wrote to his Panchkula counterpart demanding action against the lab.

Dayalan said, “The isolation and contact tracing of the positive patients did not happen due to non-communication of daily report. They may have spread the virus to hundreds of people. Most stringent action in the book must be taken against those responsible for utter negligence.”

“I have written to the Panchkula DC, conveying my displeasure and have sought suitable action against the All About Lab – AAL Research and Solution Private Limited, Panchkula,” he said.

Daylan said we hope symptomatic patients would have observed self-restraint.

“In the meanwhile, as a damage control measure we will conduct exhaustive contact tracing so that we may check the further spread of virus,” he said.
