The Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the District Cricket Association, Mohali, was held today. The meeting was attended by president Col Sandeep Bhanot, secretary Manjinder Singh Bittu and other members. Colonel Bhanot congratulated all members for the district’s impressive victories in three major cricket championships—the Katoch Shield, U-23 and U-19 tournaments.

In his address, Bhanot highlighted the ongoing efforts to further develop cricket in Mohali.

“To make cricket more accessible and attractive to the youth, the association has proposed a partnership with international and IPL players of Mohali. These players will engage with young cricketers to inspire them to pursue the sport with passion and dedication,” said Bhanot.

A key proposal to divide the Mohali district into six zones was taken to bring cricket grounds closer to the players and reduce the time and effort spent on travel. A strategic plan was made to bring more sponsorships and ensuring the growth and sustainability of cricket infrastructure in the region.

“We are expanding the cricketing horizon to include more female cricketers. Our association is dedicated to encourage female cricketers of the district. The association will approach schools and educational institutions to induct female cricketers in the district teams,” added Bhanot.
