Mohali lads have won the Punjab State Inter-District Senior Tournament for Katoch Shield by logging a win on the basis of the first innings lead against Faridkot. The match was played at PCA New B-Ground in Mullanpur.

Faridkot skipper won the toss and put the hosts to bat. The Mohali lads posted 282 before getting all out in 87.1 overs.

Rushil Srivastava came up with a 127-run contribution off 183 balls, studded with seven boundaries and four huge sixes. Aarush Latta (65 off 131 balls with seven boundaries and one six) and Nirmal Singh (29 off 50 balls, with three boundaries and one six) were the other main scorers for the side.

Ravinder S Brar hogged the limelight by claiming 6/109 for the bowling side, while Sukhreeb picked 2/33. Simranpal Singh and Gorav Kumar claimed one wicket each.

In reply, Faridkot were bundled out at 186 and trailed by 96 runs against Mohali.

Sanehdeep Singh (76 off 135 balls, with 10 boundaries and one six), Gorav Kumar (29 off 57 balls, with four boundaries and one six) and Ankush Sethi (24 off 79 balls, with two boundaries) made major contributions.

Anshul Negi bagged a five-wicket haul for 45 runs, while Arshpreet Singh (2/32), Aarush Latta (1/12) and Harshdeep (1/45) were the other main wicket takers for the side.

In their second innings, Mohali were 81/3 at the draw of stumps. The hosts won on the basis of first innings lead. Anshul Chaudhary scored 50 off 27 balls, followed by Nirmal Singh (15) and Karteek Sharma (12). Simranpal Singh claimed two wickets and Sunpreet Singh picked one for the bowling side

Sapan Chopra, Chairman Senior Selection Committee, PCA, gave away the winners trophy and the cash prize of Rs 2 lakh to Mohali team and a cash prize of Rs 1 lakh to the runners-up.
