Mithileish-Manya in mixed doubles quarterfinals
The pair of Mithileish P Krishnan and Manya Ralhan moved into the mixed doubles quarterfinals by defeating Vishnu Kedhar Kode and Brinda Shinde 26-24, 23-21 in the ongoing Yonex-Sunrise 31st Smt Krishna Khaitan All India Junior (U-19) Ranking Badminton Tournament.
Niranjaan GN and Varna P also won their match against Sumith AR and Ponnamma BV Vriddhi 21-18, 21-18, while B Changmai and A Manral ousted Ashish Garg and Pranika Holkar 21-19, 21-15. Vansh Dev and Liza Taank defeated Swastik Matharasan and Karen Austin 21-9, 22-20 and Divyansh Rawat and Zenith Abbigail outplayed Ishaan Sihag and Kanishka Kalia 21-11, 21-16.
In the girls’ U-19 category, top seed Karnataka’s Rujula Ramu found herself in a tight spot against Haryana’s Rijul Saini. However, the top seed managed to log 21-19, 18-21, 21-18 victory to sail into the quarterfinals. Fifth seed Durga Isha Kandrapu also recorded a comeback 16-21, 21-18, 21-13 win over Dianka Waldia, while Tanvi Sharma easily defeated Lakshya Rajesh 21-11, 21-10.
Skiedeep Kour overpowered a tough challenge by Disha Santosh 21-16, 13-21, 21-13 and Rishita Pandey defeated Tanvi Patri 8-21, 22-20, 22-20. Tanoo Chandra marched ahead by defeating Muskaan Khan 21-16, 21-15 and Tanvi Reddy Andluri outplayed Aishani Tiwari 21-17, 21-12. In the boys’ U-19 pre-quarterfinals, Abhinav Garg recorded a comeback win over Nagesh Chamle 14-21, 21-19, 21-4 and Ginpaul S defeated Shivansh 21-19, 21-11.
Manish Phogat also moved ahead by defeating Aditya Tripathi 21-8, 19-21, 21-10 and Medhavi Nagar defeated Ishita Negi 21-13, 22-24, 21-16. Laksh Chengappa MA stunned Ishmeet Singh by logging a 21-9, 19-21, 21-12 victory, while Sarvesh Mahesh Yadav defeated Pranit Somani 21-12, 16-21, 24-22. The pair of Pragati Parida and Vishakha Toppo moved ahead in the girls’ U-19 doubles quarterfinals by defeating Ruchi Chahal and Akanksha Singh 21-16, 21-7. D
