Minor, 2 others held for vehicle thefts

The police today claimed to have arrested three persons, including a minor, and recovered 16 two-wheelers from their possession.
The arrested accused have been identified as Sunny, a native of Bheeshanpur village in Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh, and presently residing in Phase 2, Mohali, Parvinder Singh, a native of Attari village in Amritsar district and presently residing at Randhawa Road in Kharar, and a minor.
The police said a team of the Phase 8 Industrial Area police post, led by in-charge Sub-Inspector Satwinder Singh, arrested Sunny and a minor boy and recovered three Activa and a motorcycle from their possession.
A case under Sections 379 and 411 of the IPC was registered at the Phase 1 police station on August 18 this year.
The police said during investigation in another case registered under Sections 379 and 411 of the IPC at the Phase 1 police station on September 2, they arrested Parvinder Singh and recovered 12 Activa scooters from his possession.
The police said the accused had sold two scooters to his neighbours stating that he used to purchase impounded vehicles by the police at lesser rates and later sold them to the people.
