Meeting of population research centres organised at CRRID
Chandigarh, June 16
The first meeting of the programme and management unit (PMU) of the population research centres (PRCs) in country started at the Centre for Research in Rural and Industrial Development (CRRID) here yesterday afternoon.
The meeting will continue for next two days and has been convened to discuss national as well as state-level research proposals on population, health and nutrition with a focus on social science perspectives.
Proposals have been submitted by 18 PRCs located in different states and UTs will be funded by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India.
The meeting was inaugurated by Anjali Rawat, Deputy Director General (Statistics.), Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, who gave a brief overview. PRCs from University of Srinagar, MS University, Baroda, Gokhale Institute of Politics and Economics, Pune, Institute of Economic Growth, Bangalore, and Panjab University, presented proposals.
