Mahira Bhateja of Carmel Convent School, Sector 9, claimed gold medal in the girls’ foil event in the Chandigarh Junior State Fencing Championship held at Government Model Senior Secondary School, Sector 10.

Jiya Sharma from the same school claimed silver, while Pranshi Arora and Ruby Chamoli, both from the Sector 10 government school, claimed bronze each.

In the boy’s foil event, Kamal Joshi of the Sector 10 government school defeated Panjab University Campus’ Pranshu Sharma to claim the gold medal. Vivek Kumar of Sector 10 school and Krish Mani of Panjab University Campus claimed the joint bronze.

In the girls’ epee event, Gujan of Sector 10 school bagged the gold medal by defeating Sanchi Bhargava of Punjab Engineering College (PEC). Kashvi Garg of PEC and Purvasha of MCM DAV College, Sector 36, claimed the joint bronze medal. In the boys’ epee event, Inderpreet Singh of Sector 10 school claimed the gold medal, followed by Rohit Bhatt of GGDSD College, Sector 32, at second position. Athrav and Pawan Upadhyay of Sector 10 school won the joint bronze medal.
