Litigation is a time and money-consuming exercise and an amicable resolution of disputes should be preferred, said Deputy Commissioner Girish Dayalan while asking people to make the most of the National Lok Adalat to be held on July 10.

He said cases related to the Revenue Department/ land acquisition disputes pending in various courts at the sub-division and tehsil level might be settled through the Lok Adalat. Apart from the cases pending in courts, pre-litigation cases would also be taken up, he said.

Further, the issues related to traffic challans, electricity and water bill disputes may also be resolved through the Lok Adalat.

The Lok Adalat will be organised virtually and physically and the benches will be constituted at the Mohali District Courts Complex as well as at the Kharar and Dera Bassi sub-divisions.

Encouraging people to take the maximum advantage of the opportunity, he said a quick and easy disposal of the pending cases was a win-win situation for all parties.
