Locals complain to minister over drugs in Rani Majra
Mohali, July 27
The recurrent issue of drugs in Punjab surfaced at the AAP government’s flagship programme ‘Sarkar Aapke Dwar’ facilitation camp in Rani Majra on Friday when local residents sought Cabinet Minister Anmol Gagan Maan’s intervention in the sale of drugs in their area.
Punjab Minister for Tourism and Cultural Affairs, Investment Promotion, Labour and Hospitality Departments, Anmol Gagan Mann was at the facilitation camp in Rani Majra to address the residents of Bahalpur, Shiamipur, Palhedi, Bhagat Majra and Ghandauli besides Rani Majra.
She said that the public facilitation is not limited to these camps instead they have also been empowered to dial a toll-free number 1076 to get 43 notified services at their door steps.
The village residents complained of a Rani Majra individual who earlier used to consume drugs and later started selling it. Village residents complained that despite being jailed in an NDPS Act case, he is out again. A section of visitors countered it by saying that the individual has reformed now. An animated discussion carried on for a while after which the minister dialed up the area SHO and the DSP to re-check the case.
