Young local golfer Nihaal Cheema made the city and the nation proud by staging a dramatic win at the Future Champions Golf (FCG) International Tournament in San Marcos (California, USA).

He played an average round one with a score of par-4 to be tied for the seventh position in the boys’ 7-8 years category. However, in round 2, Cheema staged a comeback to claim the first position with five birdies, 12 pars and one bogey.

Cheema, who practices at the Chandigarh Golf Club, is lined to play three more championships in the USA this year.
