Congress candidate for Kalka Pardeep Chaudhary has alleged EVM tampering and ‘malpractices’ during the counting process. In a complaint filed to the state Election Commission, he has urged it to set aside the election of the Assembly segment and hold a recounting or re-election.

Chaudhary said many EVMs had 99 per cent battery at the time of counting despite the fact those had been used the whole day on polling day. In the others, the battery backup was about 70—75%.

He said, “At booth 1 and 2, he was shown to have secured 241 votes each. This is not a coincidence but a result of tampering with EVMs.”
