A few trees got uprooted due to illegal digging for the basement of a house in Sector 33 here last night. After this incident, the local residents informed the control room and the area councillor.

Taking action in this matter, the building branch of the Estate Office has issued a notice to the owner and contractor and the construction work has been stopped. Also, an inquiry has been initiated and action will be taken after the inquiry.

The incident happened when some trees got uprooted due to the illegal digging. Regarding this, an official said that this work was going on without a building plan. Along with this, notices have also been issued in this regard and after investigation action will be taken against the owner and the contractor involved, he added. A part of the boundary of an adjacent house also collapsed in the incident.
