Passengers on Hyderabad-Chandigarh flight stranded for 4 hours after hoax bomb threat

Upon landing, aircraft is isolated and all passengers are safely disembarked

Passengers of the Hyderabad-Chandigarh flight had to spend three hours extra at the Shaheed Bhagat Singh International Airport, Chandigarh, on Saturday afternoon following a bomb threat.

Two flights departing from Hyderabad to Delhi and Chandigarh were forced to declare a general emergency onboard after getting bomb threats on Saturday morning (October 19, 2024.)

“Both aircrafts were isolated upon landing. All passengers were safely disembarked,” airline officials said.

IndiGo flight 6E 108 departed from Rajiv Gandhi International Airport at 10:37 am and touched down in Mohali at 12:46 pm.

An information was received of a bomb on the Chandigarh-bound flight after which the bomb disposal squad, CISF, Mohali police and dog squad launched a joint operation. Mohali SSP Deepak Pareek reached the spot and led the team. According to protocol, fire tenders, ambulances and other emergency services were ready for action.

Later, the passengers left the airport safely.

More than a dozen bomb hoaxes on domestic and international flights have delayed schedules in the past two weeks countrywide.
