Two DSPs and 15 Inspectors, including the Operation Cell In-charge, have been transferred by the Chandigarh Police Department. The transfer orders were issued on Tuesday evening, hours after blasts outside two clubs in Sector 26, which are located barely 100 metres from the police station and the Operation Cell unit.

Udaypal, who was assigned charge of DSP, Security, High Court, has been posted as DSP Central, while Sukhwinder Pal Singh Sondhi, at present with India Reserve Battalion (IRB), replaces Udaypal. Gurmukh Singh, DSP Central, is retiring on November 30.

Among the Inspectors, Sher Singh, previously in charge of the Operation Cell, has been reassigned duty as in charge of the PO and Summons Cell. He has been replaced by Maninder Singh, who looks after the Punjab and Haryana High Court Security. Arti Goyal, previously with the PCR, will now oversee High Court security.

Rohit Kumar, Station House Officer (SHO) of the Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) unit, has been appointed new SHO of Sector 17 police station, filling the vacancy created due to Sarita Roy’s transfer to the Police Lines. Roy has now been posted as in charge of the Computer Cell and Canteen, replacing Baldev Kumar, who has taken over as SHO of ANTF.

Lakhbir Singh, SHO of Sector 34 police station, has been transferred to the traffic wing, while Satinder, who was in Security Wing, has been posted as SHO.

Malkiat Singh, in charge of the PO and Summons Cell, has been transferred to the Traffic Wing. Jaspal Singh, who was in the Traffic Wing, has been transferred to the PCR.

Sukhdeep Singh, who was serving in the Security Wing, has been posted as in charge High Court Monitoring Cell, replacing Jasbir Singh. Jasbir will take charge as SHO of Maloya Police Station on November 30 upon retirement of Jaspal.

Rajdeep Singh has been transferred from the Police Lines to the Security Wing. Daya Ram from the CID Wing will now hold additional responsibility as RI Line. Satvinder Singh from the PCR has been transferred to the Crime Police Station.

These transfer orders were issued by Superintendent of Police (SP) Ketan Bansal.
