Himanshi won a gold medal in the under 60-kg category in the 1st South Asian School Combat Games at Dhaka from October 1 to 4, organised by South Asian School Sports Organisation, under the ages of International School Sport Federation.

An Indian contingent comprising 20 players participated in the combat games and won nine gold, three silver and four bronze medals.

Teams from Bangladesh, India, Sri Lanka, Bhutan and Maldives participated in the championship. Sapna Rana, international wushu judge, from Chandigarh was also member of the judges’ panel nominated for the games.

Himanshi, winner of silver medal in World Junior Wushu Championship, and two times gold medallist in Moscow Wushu Star is a student of Sacred Heart School, Sector 26, Chandigarh.
