Chandigarh boys have suffered defeats in the ongoing Vinoo Mankad Trophy. In the latest outcome, the local team faced a four-wicket defeat against Himachal Pradesh, at IS Bindra PCA Stadium. An unbeaten 92-run partnership between Satvik Katoch and Arnan Jamwal helped Himachal lads to get full points from the outing.

Batting first, Chandigarh lads posted 244 runs in the allotted 50 overs. The team recorded a slow and cautious start by adding 95 runs in the first 20 overs. Rupesh Yadav (36) and Ishan Gaba (15) lost their wickets with 120/2 on the board. Thereafter, a partnership of 49 runs between skipper Balraj Singh and Rudra Patial recovered the innings. However, after Balraj (87) lost his wicket, the collapse of Chandigarh innings started. Rudra Patial (42) emerged out to be the notable contributor from the middle order, as the side bundled out for 244. Lakshya Thakur and Jamwal took four wickets each.

In reply, Naunihal and Arpit Singh gave momentum to Himachal with a partnership of 86 runs. However, it was Jamwal (68) and Katoch (48) who helped the side log win in the 49th over.

The opening pair of Eswar Rithvik and Haneesh Veera Reddy laid a strong foundation for the team by adding 164 runs in the first 25 overs. After the dismissal of Rithvik (100) and Reddy (84), the middle held the fort and steered the innings to 371/5. Anand Josiah scored an unbeaten 61, while Sushant added 53. Yuvraj took two wickets for the bowling side.

In reply, Chandigarh batters failed to deliver their best and were reduced to 78/5 in 20 overs. Ehit Salaria (70), Ritik Sandhu (51) and Rudra Patial (40) helped the side to reach 249/7. B Yashwanth also picked 1/16 to help the side log easy win.
