Hazel leads in golf c’ship, Ojaswani claims gold
On the second day of the 30th Punjab Ladies Amateur Golf Championship, Hazel Chauhan led with a two-day score of 148, followed by Diya Brar with a score of 153 in the open gross event at the Chandigarh Golf Club. Shikha Meelu stayed on top of the gold division Bajwa Memorial Trophy (0 to 18 handicap) with a two-day score of gross 173. In the silver division (19 to 25 handicap), Jaspreet Kaur led with a total of 191, followed by S Ratia at second position with a score of 192 and Jyoti Gosal at third with 193 on the card.
In the bronze division (26 to 30 handicap), Neetha Gilganchi ended the day at top spot, along with Ankur Veer, with a score of 208. In the Neelu Chopra Senior Challenge Trophy (60 years and above), which was played over 36 holes, Pauline JM Singh won the event with a score of gross 178. In the Nett category, Abha Jain (145) claimed the winning title.
In the Pali Sukerchakia Super Senior Trophy (70 years and above), Punam Kalra won the gross event with 178 and Simran Harika claimed the Nett event with a score of 138. The ‘junior shield’ (under 18) was won by Heenaz Khera with a better second day gross score of 153, while Diya Brar claimed the runners-up position. In the sub-junior trophy (U-12), Ojaswani Saraswat claimed the gold medal with a gross score of 154 after 36 holes, and Rabab Kaur Kahlon ended at second position with a gross score of 159.
