Haryana Assembly election: Congress fields Chander Mohan from Panchkula
After days of suspense, the Congress Party, followed by the AAP, has made the awaited announcements of their candidates for the Panchkula and Kalka Assembly seats.
The Congress named former Deputy CM Chander Mohan as its candidate for the Panchkula seat, while the AAP has fielded Prem Garg and OP Gujjar from the Panchkula and Kalka seats, respectively.
The Congress and the AAP were earlier holding talks to form an alliance. The talks, however, witnessed an unsuccessful end.
The Congress announced the list of 40 candidates late on Wednesday evening. The list included Chander Mohan’s name. But hours before the party’s announcement, Chander Mohan claimed he had been issued a ticket and would file the papers on Thursday.
Two hours after, the AAP named Prem Garg and OP Gujjar as its candidates for Panchkula and Kalka Assembly seats, respectively.
